L’ANSE — Lowell Thomas Hanshaw, 89, of L’Anse, passed absent peacefully on Wednesday, April 28, 2021, at Canal Look at in Hancock, with relatives by his side.
Lowell was born December 19, 1931, in L’Anse, son of Lee Ander and Martha Elizabeth (Kinnunen) Hanshaw. He graduated from L’Anse High School in 1949.
He served in the United States Military all through the Korean War and was stationed in Germany as a cook. Even though there, he appreciated downhill snowboarding as a great deal as feasible in his free time.
Upon returning from the provider, Lowell lived in Chicago, exactly where he determine skated in his leisure time. He was spotted by a talent scout and was encouraged to turn pro and travel. Surviving are his spouse, Barbara Hanshaw of L’Anse son, David (Meg) Hanshaw of South Vary daughter, Amy (Firas) Sakkijha of Greensboro, North Carolina grandchildren, Jinna and Zaid Sakkijha, Lilia Hanshaw sisters, Sharon Ferris of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Barbara Funk of Menasha, Wisconsin brothers-in-regulation, Robert (Cheryl) Johnson of Holland,, Ray (Elaine) Johnson of Holland, Invoice (Lori) Johnson of L’Anse and sister-in-legislation, Jean Smith of L’Anse and several nieces and nephews.
