Viking Provides 3rd Ship to Mediterranean for Summer Voyages

Viking will increase its existence in the Mediterranean this summer season, adding a 3rd ship to sail roundtrip voyages from the Maltese funds metropolis of Valletta—a cultural UNESCO Globe Heritage Web-site. Made available as part of Viking’s “Welcome Back” assortment, Viking Star will now join sister ships Viking Venus and Viking Sea and will sail a new 11-day itinerary, “Malta & the Western Mediterranean.”

With the addition of this new voyage, vaccinated guests now have a few new possibilities for going through the Mediterranean concerning July and early October 2021. Friends on the “Malta & the Western Mediterranean” itinerary will right away in Valletta and then sail to Sicily and Spain, calling in Messina, Naples (Pompeii), Civitavecchia (Rome), Livorno (Florence/Pisa), Genoa and Barcelona, just before returning to Valletta. The news follows Viking’s modern announcements of original “Welcome Back” ocean voyages in England, Iceland, Bermuda, which began in May—as well as the restart of European river functions beginning in July 2021. Viking also not too long ago named its newest ocean ship, Viking Venus, which is now sailing in England with attendees.
